“Passion is at the heart of both teaching and learning; it is what drives innovation.“

Born and raised in Pakistan, Dr. Omair has been in the medical field all of her life. She received her MD from Liaquat University of Health Sciences, after then working as an OB/GYN for 4 years. During this time, she was both practicing as well as teaching. Dr. Omair moved to the United States in the late 1990’s, and for the next decade was a stay-at-home mom.

After some time, Dr. Omair started working with a local Chiropractor in Boise. She worked with him, managing his clinic, for five years. She then moved to Brown Mackie College where she taught as an adjunct professor in their Medical Assisting Program. While there, she discovered her love for teaching, as she helped grow the program over the next 4 years.

In 2014, Dr. Omair was approached by the College of Western Idaho to create a new Medical Assisting Program. She built the program from the ground up, leading as its Program Chair for 4 years; she started the program by creating the curriculum, getting the new class ready and getting the program accredited. Under her leadership, the program grew from a handful of students to two cohorts of 20 students each. In 2018, she was promoted to the Department Chair of Health Professions at CWI. She is responsible for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Dental Assistants, Medical Administrative Assistants and Occupational Therapy Assistants. Along with being the Department Chair, Dr. Omair still leads and teaches the Medical Assisting students.

Today, Dr. Omair comfortably lives in Meridian, ID with her husband and 3 children. Dr. Omair loves spoiling her kids and pets, camping and being out in the woods, gardening, and a nice cup of tea with a beautiful view.
