Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act

In accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (collectively referred to as the "ADA"), CWI will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs or activities.

Visitors, Guests and LicenseesCWI will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in the services, programs or activities to which members of the public are invited to participate, including without limitation, Board of Trustee meetings, recruitment activities and community education opportunities.  For disability inquires for the following services, please contact the ADA Coordinator listed below:

  • Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid for effective communication should contact the Communications Department at communications@cwi.edu or 208.562.2222 as soon as possible but no later than 72 hours before the scheduled event.
  • Anyone requiring accommodations regarding the use of CWI facilities, including accommodations related to the use of service animals, accessible seating at events, or other accessibility issues should contact the Executive Director of Facilities, Planning & Management at facilities@cwi.edu or 208.562.3220.
  • Anyone with questions pertaining to CWI's website accessibility may contact the Website Accessibility Coordinator, available at communications@cwi.edu or 208.562.2222.

The ADA does not require CWI to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial burden or administrative burden. 

Complaints that a program, service or activity of CWI is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the relevant ADA Coordinator listed above.  Grievance Procedures for students related to disability discrimination are available on the Grievance Procedures page. Grievance Procedures for employees related to disability discrimination are available on the HR-130 Complaint Process for CWI Employees Policy page.  All other complaints shall be submitted as follows:

The complaint should be in writing (email is preferred) and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant and location, date, and description of the problem.  Alternative means of filing complaints will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request.

The complaint should be submitted by the grievant and/or his/her designee as soon as possible but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to the designated ADA Coordinator listed above.

Within 15 calendar days after receipt of the complaint, the designated ADA Coordinator or designee will respond in writing, and where appropriate, in a format accessible to the complainant.  The response will explain the position of CWI and offer options for substantive resolution of the complaint.

If the response by the designated ADA Coordinator or designee does not satisfactorily resolve the issue, the complainant and/or their designee may appeal the decision within 15 calendar days after receipt of the response to the VP of Human Resources.

Within 15 calendar days after receipt of the appeal, the VP of Human Resources will respond in writing, and, where appropriate, in a format accessible to the complainant, with a final resolution of the complaint.

All written complaints received by the designated ADA Coordinator or designee, appeals to the VP of Human Resources or designee, and responses from these two offices will be retained by CWI for at least three years.
