Sandra graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, in 1996 with a BA degree in Journalism and Public Communications.  She was sports editor and writer for The Northern Light weekly magazine, UAA.   After graduation, she worked for the Peninsula Clarion newspaper, Kenai, Alaska, as a sports editor and news writer, and for The World newspaper, Coos Bay, Oregon.  She began her teaching career during graduate school at Boise State University, working as a teaching assistant for the English department.  After earning her MA in English in 2003, she worked as an adjunct instructor with the Freshmen English Faculty Program, Boise State University.  Immediately following graduate school, she moved to Seoul, South Korea, where she taught English for one year.  She also lived and worked in Japan.  Sandra is a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served during the Vietnam campaign on Okinawa, Japan, and at the Pentagon, Washington, DC.   This is Sandra’s third semester as English adjunct instructor at CWI.
