Jacqueline Y. Wright is an adjunct faculty of Spanish for the Modern Language Department. She has been at the College of Western Idaho since 2010.  In addition to CWI, Jacqueline teaches advanced courses in Spanish and Spanish Literature, Civilization and Culture for Northwest Nazarene University and is a faculty member of Nampa High School where she teaches Spanish and is the Coordinator for the English as a Second Languages Program (ESL). Jacqueline has a vast experience teaching at the college level as full time and as an adjunct faculty imparting courses in Spanish, Adult Education and the General Educational Programs (GED) and ESL as well. Jacqueline has also directed the Even Start Family Literacy Program for Malheur County where she created and implemented literacy programs for underprivileged families.

Jacqueline has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, a Master’s Degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Bilingual Education and ESL, and, a second Master’s Degree in Spanish Letters and Literature from the Jesuit University of Saint Louis Missouri in Madrid, Spain.  Jacqueline was born and grew up in Guatemala, Central America where she attended preparatory schools for girls only from grades k-12 graduating from high school with both, a High School Diploma, and a certification to teach Elementary School Children.

Outside the workplace, Jacqueline’s hobbies and interests are diverse. She has a passion for photography, cooking, literature, music and cultures. She writes poetry and religious articles for women. Jacqueline also loves to dance and she is a member of Boise Dancers. Jacqueline is also a columnist for the IdahoHispano newspaper where she writes in her “Rincon Literario”, or Literary Corner, informing and educating Hispanics about their rich literary heritage.

Jacqueline has lived in Idaho for 20 years. She has raised two children, one is now serving in the Air Force; stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and the other one is an honor student at CWI studying Accounting and Business Administration.
