Carol J. Crothers is a CWI adjunct mathematics instructor, teaching developmental mathematics courses.
Carol’s postsecondary educational career began many years ago upon her graduation from Kimberly High School in Southern Idaho. Following two semesters at the College of Southern Idaho, and a long-enough break from college to realize that earning a college degree really IS the best option for optimal employment opportunities; she enrolled at Boise State University. Carol then earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and began a ten-year career as a middle school mathematics teacher - with most of those years in Carson City, Nevada. After earning a master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno; Carol spent almost nine years as an evaluation consultant for the Nevada Department of Education (NDE), and another five years as the Director of the NDE Office of Assessment, Program Accountability, and Curriculum.
In August of 2012, she again changed careers and returned to her home state of Idaho. In addition to postsecondary mathematics teaching, Carol works independently as an education consultant and contractor.
Carol enjoys camping, hiking, reading, spending time with family, and attending local theatre performances. She has a beautiful daughter who (although a Bronco at heart) is attending the University of Nevada, Reno.
