Students Enjoy CWI Leadership Retreat

Published: March 10, 2015

Last weekend was College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Leadership Retreat and we were happy to have Charlie Varland from Boise State University. He is the associate director of student involvement and leadership center at Boise State.  His office is in the Boise State student union and if you get a chance, it is highly recommend stopping by and saying introducing yourself to him.

(With soft music playing in background, Charlie’s soft calm voice asks the question) “What qualities should a CWI leader possesses?”

Well this is a question that shouldn’t just be asked to the attendees of the retreat, but it should be asked to whole CWI student body. Elections approach next for next year’s ASCWI president, vice president, and senators.  Vote online March 16–20 on you’re myCWI account.

As far as the retreat Charlie had hours of great challenges for our group of CWI students. This group of outgoing, enthusiastic CWI students was an amazing representation of CWI and Charlie will surely not soon forget this group, even if he wanted to. All in all, it was a great Saturday well spent learning about us as leaders and what makes a good leader.
