College of Western Idaho (CWI) is a community college committed to accessibility and inclusiveness facilitated by open admissions and low tuition for everyone regardless of previous academic experience and financial status. Giving to the Potential to Grow Scholarship makes a profound impact on the life and career of a student at CWI.

Reasons to Support Scholarship Donations:

  • 74 percent of CWI students receive some form of grant or scholarship
  • By 2018, 61 percent of jobs in Idaho will require postsecondary education
  • The lifetime earning potential for those with an associate’s degree is nearly one-third more than those with a high school diploma
  • Your donation is tax deductible
  • CWI tuition is nearly half the cost of four-year universities – your money goes farther here!

We Have Two Types of Scholarships:

  • Annual Scholarships are distributed every year until all funds are distributed in their entirety.
  • Endowed Scholarships are established to provide scholarships that will last year after year. The principal is invested, and the interest accrued is then disbursed as scholarships based on the donor's criteria.

There are Various Factors for Scholarships:

  • Need Based - students in need of financial assistance
  • Program Based - students in a specific program
  • Merit Based - students with a high GPA

CWI Machine Tool Technology students have access to $17,500 in scholarships because of a donation from the Gene Haas Foundation.
