Where can I study with a group?

The CWI Library does not currently have any group study rooms available; however groups are welcome in the library and in the atrium outside the library.

Who can get a library card?

The CWI Library is funded largely by student fees and is primarily for the use of CWI students, faculty, and staff.

Students: CWI students must present their CWI photo identification card to check out library materials. An alternative identification may be accepted if a student ID is not available and the student is already registered in the library’s system. Students may obtain a CWI ID at any CWI One Stop Student Services center (see One Stop locations). Students taking noncredit courses may receive a library Courtesy Card by providing evidence of enrollment.

Faculty and Staff: Faculty and staff may use their CWI employee ID card as their library card to check out materials from the library.

Community Members: Community members 18 years of age and older may obtain a Courtesy Card to check out materials by presenting a government-issued ID showing an Ada or Canyon County address and one piece of official mail dated within 30 days showing the same address.

Who can use library computers?

Current CWI students have first priority on using computers in the Library. All current CWI students are assigned a username and password at the beginning of each semester which they can use to log in. Library computers may be accessed using this default login.

Visitors at least eighteen years old, or accompanied by a parent/guardian, may use the computers by requesting a login from Library staff. When all computers are in use visitors will be asked to yield the computer to a CWI student, faculty, or staff member.

All computer resources are the property of the College of Western Idaho. All computer users must abide by rules set forth in the CWI Computer Use Policy.
