Get Involved

Clubs at College of Western Idaho (CWI) offer additional opportunities to engage in your academic passions and fulfill personal enrichment goals. If you want to get involved in a Registered Club or Organization (RCO) at CWI, review the list below for the current clubs we have to offer. If you want to start your own club, please contact the Student Enrichment Office. 

The Associated Students of the College of Western Idaho (ASCWI) and the Student Enrichment Office have a close working relationship, where the two groups work collaboratively to approve and support all Registered Clubs and Organizations.

The 2015 Canyon County Fair was full of families, 4H animals, carnival rides and, the College of Western Idaho. With backpacks full of sunglasses, chap sticks, hacky sacks, beach balls and fans, Saturday fair-goers were met with all kinds of CWI fun! In addition, the Street Team shared the Upgrade U.O message.   CWI Advisor, Oster Hernandez kept the fun going at the CWI Community Stage, featuring fun acts for the entire family, including; Jugglemania, Reptile Adventures and Magician/Mentalist...

For Jessica Thomas the College of Western Idaho truly is the college of what if. The horticulture technology program student, who is steadily working to complete her associate degree, says she never pictured herself going back to school. She dropped out in the tenth grade and never intended to return. Then one day she began to question… what if?

The action was deep in the pack at CWI’s Professional Truck Driving night at the Meridian Speedway this weekend.  The CWI Street Stock race was exciting with Marv Weaver dominating the race and claiming the win. CWI’s High School Tuners fought a hard race with pack leaders changing four times with Daytona Wurtz leading the last six laps into victory lane.

It’s a busy week for the Street Teams; a quick turnaround from the Explore U.0 Event to the Meridian Speedway for more racing! The CWI Professional Truck Driving program will be leading the CWI pack this weekend with the Street Stock Class. However all programs and opportunities will be highlighted as Upgrade U.0 heads out to the track for the final CWI Night of the season! So catch another gear, visit the CWI Upgrade booth and we hope to see you at the races!

CWI’s Street Team returns to campus this Wednesday for the Explore CWI event. The Street Team has been busy handing out hundreds of invitations to the community at all of the recent events and they are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces. With all of the conversations about upgrades, the Explore event is a great way to get started on an upgrade and be ready to start classes this Fall!

The College of Western Idaho’s President, Bert Glandon, threw the first pitch of the night with the Street Team pitching free gifts to the crowd throughout the night at the Boise Hawks game against Everett’s Aquasox.  The Hawks provided some early excitement but failed to find their winning form in a 7-2 loss to the Everett Aqua Sox. Boise struck first with a two-run homerun by Kevin Padlo in the fourth-inning but was unable to keep the Everett bats quiet through the middle innings.

Street Teams lead off in perfect position at the ball park this week! Thursday will kick off a five-game home stand for the Boise Hawks against the Northwest League’s North Division leading Everett AquaSox with CWI’s President Bert Glandon throwing out the first pitch of the night! While Boise looks to pick up some momentum heading into the heart of the season, the CWI Street Team hit their sweet spot in the stands with the fans. The 2015 Boise Music Festival was hot, hot, hot with the best music Boise has seen since the River Festival line ups! It was triple digit heat but music lovers turned out by the thousands to enjoy the variety of music. CWI’s Street Teams were right in the middle of all the fun sharing their upgrades with everyone they met. The CWI "cool" gear was in high demand; sunglasses were seen everywhere, fans were fluttering across the field, and the beach balls were flying through the crowd!

Lisette Baer secured a silver medal finish at the 51st-annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.
