Having worked at Idaho Power Company for twenty-three years, Russ Weedon currently serves as a Community Education Representative in Idaho Power Company’s Capital (Boise/Meridian) region. In this role he coordinates all of the company’s community outreach and education programs. He is privileged to be able to speak to a variety of audiences on a number of topics including electrical safety, energy generation, environmental stewardship, and energy efficiency and conservation. It is also in this role that he is able to serve on a number of community-related boards and committees, including: Idaho Senior Games; Boise School District Marketing Department Advisory Committee; Mountain View High School of Business Advisory Committee; The United Way of Treasure Valley Community Investment Review Committee; Idaho Business Week Steering Committee; Idaho Foundation for Private Enterprise and Economic Education Board; Business Professionals of America; Idaho Statewide Family Literacy Cabinet; and so on.
For the past seven years Russ has been a Junior Achievement volunteer, speaking to Marketing, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Economics classes in the Boise, Meridian and Middleton School Districts.
Over the last four years Russ has been consulting with Idaho’s State Department of Education to offer character education and service learning education to elementary and secondary school students around the state of Idaho.
