In October 2023, with great enthusiasm, I assumed the role of Department Chair for Public Safety at the College of Western Idaho. I possess a unique background in public safety, consisting of both field experience and formal academia. I have served as a police officer in the Great State of Idaho for 30-years and have been in a supervisory/command position for the City of Garden City for 22-years. I was appointed to the position as the Chief of Police in March 2015. I possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Boise State University where I also serve as an adjunct criminal justice professor. I possess a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership, with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from the American Military University. In addition, I have attended Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

I am a servant leader, value my family, and I am committed to the safety and security of the citizens. I possess strong professional values (integrity, humility, passion, and accountability) which are complimentary to my personal beliefs. I recognize and understand the importance of partnerships and relationships. I have established strong connections with law enforcement, fire, paramedic, and medical personnel and leaders throughout the state. In addition, I have served as the president of the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association and personally drafted and lobbied for public safety legislation passed by the Idaho Legislator and signed by the Governor.

I am proud of my service in law enforcement and my commitment to the State of Idaho. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life, which is serving the amazing staff and students at the College of Western Idaho.
