I was born in Nampa and raised in the fields of the Treasure Valley. Most seasons, I weeded and topped onions, picked jalapeños, pruned fruit trees, and harvested potatoes. This experience motivated me to work my way out of the fields and into the classroom at Boise State University. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree I worked for five years before returning to my alma mater for a master’s. I highly value education and as such have made helping others obtain a higher education my career.
I started my career in higher education at Boise State University in November 2003. I was privileged to join College of Western Idaho (CWI) in July 2008 as part of the founding team before we had students. Currently, I oversee One Stop Student Services operations and Admissions. I am a member of the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC) and Past President of Idaho Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (IACRAO).I am also proud to serve as CWI’s Hispanic Representative with Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
During my time away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, gaming, mountain biking, experiencing Boise’s vibrant downtown, and taking my wife out dancing at El Cid.
