I began my teaching career in the California Community College system after graduating with a Master's Degree in Communication and Sociolinguistics from San Diego State University. I taught at several colleges in the San Diego county area before moving to Idaho in the early 1990s. Since then, I've taught a variety of Communication courses at Boise State University and courses in Instructional Leadership for the University of Idaho. Since moving to Idaho, I've also had various careers as a massage therapist, management consultant, organizational development consultant, and drug and alcohol counselor.
I am a co-owner of a holistic therapy business in Boise where I teach mindfulness and offer spiritual direction. I will begin a year long pastoral care residency at St. Luke's Medical Center, starting in June 2014. I look forward to continuing my work as a Buddhist chaplain and the myriad opportunities it offers to be of service.
I'm married to a terrific fellow, Chris, and we have a marvelous friend in our cat, Frankie. Happy days include meditating, reading, hiking, cooking, eating and visiting with friends. I feel so lucky and honored to be allowed to teach at CWI. I will miss it.
