Jeff Davis has been teaching at CWI since spring semester 2013. Before coming to CWI, Jeff was the director of the music program at Bishop Kelly High School for seven years. Prior to that, Jeff taught at Boise State University, Arizona State University and Southwestern College in Phoenix.
Jeff is a product of the community college system, transfering from Pierce College in Lakewood, Washington to Pacific Lutheran University. He also has graduate degrees from Arizona State. While working on his doctorate at ASU, Jeff spent a year as the interim Artistic Director of Rosie’s House, a small inner city community arts school that offers free music lessons to the underserved students of Phoenix. It was during this time that Jeff’s passion for music education was reinforced as he witnessed the power of music to change young lives. His experiences at Rosie’s House formed the basis of his dissertation research.
In the midst of his academic career, Jeff has also been a church musician, serving churches in Washington State, Arizona, and Boise. He is currently the Director of Music Ministries at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Boise. He currently lives in Boise with his wife and two sons.
