Janel received her bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Idaho, and a master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language and a master’s in Spanish from the University of Nevada-Reno. She teaches courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish. An interest in language acquisition and international study resulted in many years of teaching, living, and travelling in Europe, Africa, and Mexico. She has worked with migrant scholarship students teaching ESL and Spanish at Boise State University as well as teaching languages for the Department of Foreign Languages and the Intensive English Language Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. As International Student Coordinator at Sierra Nevada College, she served the needs of underrepresented and international students and taught ESL and foreign languages.
