Heather Gifford

Faculty - Adjunct

Heather Gifford, M.A., is an adjunct instructor in the Sociology department.  She earned her MA in Sociology from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012 after completing her BA in Multi-Ethnic Studies at Boise State.  Heather lived in the Philippines for three years and is fluent in Tagalog which enhanced her research interests in Asian Studies, Immigration, Cultural Studies, and Poverty.  Additionally her areas of emphasis are the Sociology of Health, Sexuality & Gender, and Social Inequality.  She joined CWI in January, 2013 and is very excited about joining the great staff and student body here. 

Heather is very passionate about teaching and making learning fun and adventurous.  She loves to work with students in helping them discover their life passion and mentoring them to success.  Her hobbies also including cycling, swimming, zumba/dancing, gardening, and anything outdoors.
