Eric Knowles has deep Idaho roots, having lived in the state for all but 7 years of his life. After graduating from Capital High in Boise, he spent a year at Oregon State, then returned home to Boise State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education. He later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education Technology from Lesley University.

Eric began his teaching career at the Junior High level, teaching 7th, 8th, and 9th grade math for about eleven years. In 2005, he began teaching classes at Boise State. When the College of Western Idaho opened in 2009, Eric began teaching classes here as well. He continued to teach at both schools until 2020, when he joined the full-time faculty of the Math Solutions Center at CWI.

Eric has three children, one grandson, and a cat, all of whom he loves, and at least four of them love him back. He enjoys watching sports, especially Boise State basketball and football. He loves many types of music, and his vinyl collection is growing. He also loves games, books, movies, and plays, especially musicals.
