Dan Welker is the lead Economics instructor for the CWI Business Department. Prior to becoming full-time faculty in the fall of 2013 he taught as an adjunct at CWI for three years. He teaches Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Business Statistics -- three subjects he dearly loves.
Dan comes to CWI with a background in risk strategy consulting. He spent approximately twenty years working with both internal and external clients throughout the Americas ranging from boutique lenders to money center banks. Strategies developed from his analytical work remain in place at multiple Fortune 500 organizations.
Dan is a fourth generation Idaho native and holds a BS and MS from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Dan also holds the IRS credential of Enrolled Agent, the highest certification it provides. He speaks both Spanish and Portuguese in addition to his native Idaho hillbilly dialect.
Dan and his wife have five children and reside in Boise, Idaho. After class and outside of tax season there’s a good chance you’ll find him fly fishing in a local river or trying his best to become a he-man big game hunter somewhere in Idaho's backcountry.
