(Ralph) "Brett" Reid is the Instructor/Coordinator for the College of Western Idaho Law Enforcement program. Recently he stepped back into the classroom after serving three years as Assistant Dean and Dean of Social Sciences and Public Affairs at CWI. Prior to his arrival at CWI, Brett was the Department Chair of Social Sciences at the College of Southern Idaho. He also served as the Coordinator/Instructor for the CSI Law Enforcement Program from 2003 until 2010. Brett had a lengthy career in the criminal justice field, where he served as a police officer, corrections officer, and probation and parole officer, for more than 25 years.
He began teaching at the Peace Officer and Standards and Training center (P.O.S.T.) in Meridian on a part-time basis in 1995. He still teaches on occasion at POST. He currently holds a Master Certification from P.O.S.T., as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Career and Technical Education.
Brett grew up in central California but has been an Idaho resident now for nearly forty years. He and his wife, Teri, love the Treasure valley area and enjoy the performing arts, sporting events, and the many wonderful opportunities for recreation and entertainment the Boise area has to offer.
