Declare Your Major Week

Published: September 30, 2016

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Chances are the answer to this question has changed over the years. When was the last time you asked yourself that question? And do you know the answer?

Declare Your Major Week was created to motivate students into thinking about these important questions!

Many students who are attending school are unable to answer that question and that is okay! On average college students change their major three times during their college careers. However, knowing a direction or pathway to success is very important to save time and money, but another great way to do that is to declare you major early. That is why Advising and New Student Services is hosting Declare Your Major Week!

College of Western Idaho (CWI) Advising & New Student Services is excited to present Declare Your Major Week, Oct. 3–6, to assist students who are still uncertain about their major and/or career. Advisors and faculty will be available to talk with students to help explore various options.

At the Declare Your Major Week you will be able to:

  • Answer the question: "What can I do with this major?"
  • Make sure the major you have declared is right for you!
  • Make an appointment to meet with a professional Advisor.
  • Mingle with professors and students from different majors.
  • WIN PRIZES!

You don’t have to decide what you want to be when you grow up, but you do need to declare a major!
