College of Western Idaho Students Attend Democratic National Convention

Published: September 6, 2012

MEDIA ADVISORY – Two students from College of Western Idaho were selected to represent the College at the Democratic National Convention. The Executive Director of the Democratic National Convention selects a limited number of interns that can attend and support the convention based on performance and qualifications at the state level.

Jordan Brady, studying political science and communication, is a sophomore at CWI. He lives in Boise and has been working as an intern for the state democratic convention over the last year. Jordan notes “the political experience and behind-the-scenes knowledge of how national conventions operate has been a phenomenal opportunity and an exceptional learning experience.”

Karen Nunnally, also a sophomore studying political science at CWI, is from Nampa and echoes the sentiment of her classmate attending the convention.

“I am thrilled to see our students being recognized and selected to participate in these remarkable opportunities," stated Robert Harbaugh, CWI Political Science instructor and program head. “They are hard working, amazing people who are dedicated to reaching their dreams.”
