Published: May 8, 2012

MEDIA ADVISORY – On May 12, the College of Western Idaho will honor the 2012 graduating class in a comprehensive commencement ceremony. CWI’s commencement honors the success of those students who have achieved an Associate of Art or Science degree, obtained a Professional Technical Certificate, completed the General Educational Development (GED) program, and finished the Apprentice program. This year CWI will celebrate nearly 670 anticipated degree students and more than 1,400 GED and Apprentice completers. With an expectation of 450 students participating in the commencement ceremony, this year’s attendance is predicted to be the largest in the school’s short history. In honor of the support extended to CWI during its initial years, President Glandon will make a special presentation to Boise State President Bob Kustra.

“CWI ceremony is one of the most inspirational celebrations a person can experience. The commencement honors a diverse group of people who have reached goals that can only be achieved at a community college,” stated President Bert Glandon. “Many milestones have brought our exemplary students together in this time and space, and CWI is proud to send them along the pathways where they will continue their studies at a four-year university or directly enter the workforce. I have no doubt this year’s graduating class will go on to lead successful and fulfilling lives.”
