5th Annual Skills on Wheels Car Show

College of Western Idaho (CWI) SkillsUSA Club will present the 5th annual Skills on Wheels Auto Show, Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for students traveling to the 2017 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. In 2016, CWI sent 15 students to nationals and came home with nine medals! 

Fifty-one CWI students are currently registered to compete at the state level on April 6-7, 2017 in the following programs of study:

  • Auto Service Technology
  • Automotive Refinishing Technology
  • CNC Milling
  • Collision Repair Technology
  • Diesel Equipment Technology
  • Drafting Technology
  • Electronics Technology
  • Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Internetworking
  • Power Equipment Technology
  • Welding

This year's Skills on Wheels Auto Show will transform the Nampa Campus Micron Center into a showroom of muscle cars, stock cars, eighteen-wheelers, motorcycles, and more. Program labs will be open and hosting demonstrations throughout the event to showcase a few of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs available at CWI. 

Registration:  Registration is open for all categories. The event, which is free to the public, will include a $1 prize raffle, music emceed by Timmy B’s Mobile Jukebox, a live musical performance by Leverson, Hotwheels® races for the kids, food, and the best things on wheels in the valley!
