Are gifts given via payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis?

No. Employees gifts made via payroll deduction are on a post-tax basis.


Are there restrictions of the scholarship funds?

Restrictions are set by the donor and adhered to by the Scholarship Coordinator, Financial Aid department and monitored by the Foundation accountant and auditors. The CWI Foundation has established a scholarship fund with minimal restrictions to ensure more students get awards...

Are you accepting equipment donations?

In addition to financial contributions, the Foundation welcomes in-kind gifts.

Are you accepting pledges?

Yes. We are accepting pledges made in writing for up to three years.


Can I designate my gift to a specific program?

Yes! If there is an existing fund established for a program you can make a gift at any time. If you want to establish a new fund to support a program, the College of Western Idaho (CWI) Foundation requires a minimum of a $500 gift to create a new fund.


Can I direct a scholarship to a specific student?

No, per IRS rules there must be a competitive process in order for your donation to be tax deductible. A particular student may not be pre-identified to receive a scholarship.
