How is CWI funded?

CWI has three primary funding sources: tuition & fees, state funding (from the general fund, liquor funds, and Professional Technical Education allocations), and funding from county property taxes.

CWI’s tuition and fees are nearly half the cost of Idaho’s public universities. State funding support for CWI is 61% of the average of Idaho’s other community colleges. And, CWI’s tax levy rate is $16.63 per $100,000 compared to Idaho’s other community colleges that range from $95 to $112.

Although the College is committed to efficient operational practices and securing additional self-supporting funds from other sources, funding continues to be a challenge in meeting the growing educational demands of western Idaho.
