Student Email Upgrade Information

On September 15, your CWI student email was upgraded to Microsoft Office 365.

You still have all the same great features of your original student email account, including mail, calendar, tasks, contacts, and the ability to access it from any mobile device.
A new Home screen is now available to access email, Lync Online for messaging, and Office Web apps, as well as FAQs for Microsoft Assistance.
Because of this update to Microsoft Office 365, you will now have two separate accounts; a Microsoft Office 365 school account and a Personal Microsoft account (which includes all your existing SkyDrive content).   Please review the End User Checklist to ensure your desktop is up-to-date with Office 365 software requirements:  End User Checklist.
How does this effect you?
After the upgrade, you now have two separate Microsoft accounts:


  1. Office 365 - New School account. This account gives you access to your school email (ie; [email protected]). The College of Western Idaho administers this account, and password changes made on the CWI domain (for example, using the Logon Help password change service) will be replicated to this account and all other student accounts (Blackboard, myCWI, etc.).
    You can access your student email account by using the following new web address:
  2. Personal Microsoft account. This personal account will give you access to all your existing SkyDrive content, Messenger, and other Microsoft services. Note that the College of Western Idaho no longer administers this account, and password changes made on the CWI domain will not be replicated. CWI cannot reset the password for this account.
