Library Events

The library has lots of events open to all CWI students, staff, and faculty! Check back here for upcoming event information.

Coffee Breaks @ CWI Library

Stop by CWI Library the first Wednesday of every month for free coffee, pastries, and research help! Coffee and snacks are served at 9 a.m. and are there for the taking until they run out (usually around noon). Find us in the Nampa Campus Multipurpose Building (same parking lot as the Aspen Classroom Building).

The Declaration for the Right to Libraries

Libraries empower the individual, support lifelong learning, and advance research and scholarship, all values that are central to the College of Western Idaho's mission and activities. To express our support for the critical importance of libraries, both at CWI and around the country, the College announces a signing event for the "Declaration for the Right to Libraries" on April 22nd from 5-7 p.m.

At this event, key administrators and staff members, supporters of the College, and students will add their names to a document created by the American Library Association that is being circulated and signed at similar events around the nation. All signatures gathered at CWI will be added to the national declaration document that will be presented at National Library Legislative Day in May 2014 in Washington, D.C.

More information on the national campaign can be found at

LibART Contest

An annual contest open to all current CWI students, the LibART contest is held each Spring semester.  Three winning pieces are chosen and purchased by the Library.  Check out the LibART page for more information.
