Emerging Scholars Program

We are seeking faculty nominations for the Emerging Scholars Award, an honor accompanied by a scholarship amount of up to $1,000. The nomination process will be quick and easy, so we're hoping to see lots of faculty nominating deserving students.

The Emerging Scholars Award program exists to recognize outstanding students for their commitment to learning, demonstration of a special talent in their discipline or program and the potential to excel. Selection is based on academic integrity, innovation, and professionalism--NOT primarily on academic status. Students are nominated by their instructors in designated Academic Affairs disciplines (and in the future, Career and Technical Education programs). This award is unique in that we have an opportunity to recognize, at the course level, those students who have distinguished themselves in or outside the classroom. By awarding the scholarship funds for the next academic year, we are also hoping this initiative will incentivize retention and persistence. Therefore, nominees must be CWI students in Fall of 2017 to be eligible. Nominating faculty and award winners must be available to attend the awards ceremony held on April 27, 2017 as well.

Please download and complete the Emerging Scholars Nomination Form and email it to [email protected]

Deadline for nominations is before 5 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017.
