Computer Skills is a requirement for many programs, the CSA exam can be used to meet a PRE-REQ for some program level courses, alternatively credit based course are offered that also meet these requirements. The goal of the CSA is to ensure you have mastered those computer skills that are needed for you to be successful in your program level courses.

  • Computer Basics (General Technology about the internet and personal computers)
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

CSA Details:

  • To prepare for the CSA, please review the CSA study guides.
  • The CSA is available as a walk-in exam when space is available.
  • There is no charge to CWI or CSI students for registering for the CSA.
    • Non-students must pay a $20.00 exam fee.
  • The CSA must be taken all at once the first time, but testers can choose the order in which they re-take sections.
    • Four exams, with 200 total questions, 3 attempts per question.
    • You are given up to 4 hours to complete the CSA exam, but it usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

    • CSA Accounts are active for 30 Days. Students are allowed two 30-day licenses to complete the CSA exam.
  • Your scores are available from the Assessment Staff as soon as you have completed the assessment.
    • You must score 70% or better on each section to pass the CSA.
