Center for New Directions Scholarships

College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Center for New Directions awards scholarships in the fall and spring semesters of each academic year. The scholarships are: 1) The Nontraditional by Gender Scholarship and 2) The Single Parent Scholarship. Students who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply.

  • A Career and Technical Education student
  • Pursuing a career in a field that is non-traditional by gender or a single parent
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a Career and Technical Education Program at CWI
  • In good academic standing
  • Able to demonstrate financial need


Non-Trad by Gender

Student is:

  • Currently enrolled at least half-time in Career and Technical Education Program that is,
  • Non-traditional by gender as specified by the State of Idaho’s Division of Career and Technical Education,
  • In good academic standing (2.0 minimum GPA-Requirement is waived for new students),
  • Able to demonstrate financial need* not met by grants and other scholarships, and
  • Willing to meet with Center for New Directions Coordinator for an interview (face-to-face or via phone).
