Free Online Defensive Driving Classes

Approved by the Idaho Department of Transportation

Start this course now and you can:

  • Receive a 3-point reduction on an Idaho Driver's License record. The Idaho Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles allows individuals to take the course for a 3-point reduction once every three years.
  • Satisfy a court order
  • Reduce insurance premiums. Check with your insurance carrier to determine rate reduction.

Earning a Certificate of Completion
To receive credit for the course and to receive your Certificate of Completion to satisfy court or DMV requirements, you must take the final exam in person at the Nampa Campus Professional Truck Driving location at 5252 Treasure Valley Way, Nampa ID. The fee for this test is $40.

Get Started

  1. Sign Up by visiting the Idaho Defensive Driving Course website.
  2. Click on the link entitled, "All new users click here to register". This will take you to the registration page.
  3. On the Registration page:
    • Select your course from the drop-down menu: Defensive Driving
    • Complete the registration form
    • Review the information for accuracy
    • Click the "Register" button. This will take you to a new page.
  4. On this new page, click the "Start Course" button
  5. After completing each chapter, you will take a short quiz. After passing each quiz, you will continue on to the next chapter.
  6. Take the final exam - This will be done in person at our testing site. Upon passing the final examination and making payment, you will immediately receive your Certificate of Completion.

 

Take the Test

Administered by the College of Western Idaho Professional Truck Driving

Test Requirements:

  • Payment - Cash Only.
  • You MUST bring photo identification. No exceptions. No Photo ID... No Certificate
  • Test Site personnel are only availabe at certain times. Call for available testing times.
  • You will be required to complete a written final exam. You may review or re-take the course online for FREE until you pass.

Be aware, only the test site has the Log-in/Log-out verification that proves you completed your on-line program. No other driving school has access to your information.

IMPORTANT - If your schedule does not allow you to complete the final exam at a designated "test area", do not take this on-line clinic.
